Promotional Products Questions:
Answer:
A Simple Definition for Set up Fees
Set up fees are the cost of setting up promotional products for decoration and are dependent on the vendors and their decoration style. These fees usually occur on a one time basis. If a change is needed like a size increase or reduction, an editing fee will apply.
For silk screen promotional products which involve burning film onto a screen for imprint, set up fees are referred to as screen charges. For every color imprinted on promotional products, there is a screen charge and a film fee. Film fees are also charged on a one-time basis unless a change in artwork occurs to the imprint. Screen charges will occur each time a job goes to press.
Regarding promotional products that require embroidery, set up fees are referred to as digitize fees or “tape charges”. This involves assigning stitch positions that mimic a logo and switching thread colors accordingly. Thread color changes incur no additional costs and allow up to two changes per logo.
