Mistake #10 out of 12 Presenters Should Avoid

Every great promotional product specialist, web designer and lead generation account executive that I have observed works very hard to be the best that they can be. The trap many rookie marketing executives fall into is that they sometimes equate their own energy to the group they are presenting to. Many promotional product specialists can be legends in their own minds. It is ok to feel good about a product presentation, as long as it is tempered with a deep sense of humility.

Always try to debrief, ask yourself “Did I give them every opportunity to learn about the promotional products or any other service that we provide? Was there a better way that I could have presented my promotional product line? Did I have the entire group 100% enrolled?  What could I have done better?” I have watched many marketing executives with good basic abilities flounder by becoming legends in their own minds. They become so enthused with themselves, that they forget to keep in mind the responsibility they have to educate them on why this promotional product is a perfect fit for their campaign.

I will leave you with this “You have been granted a precious commodity called another person’s time and access to their mind. Being able to communicate successfully a promotional product campaign is not something to boast about, it is an honor to be thankful for.
