The Creative Calling

Creativity is a technique that cannot be learned. You cannot wake up one morning and decide that you want to be creative. It is a skill everyone is born with, that needs to be nurtured to ensure that it grows. Many people overlook the importance of creativity and the impact it has on everyday life.

Most high school graduates are conditioned to believe that a technical trade or service is a safe career path that will earn them a nice pay check, but this mentality stunts the creative thought of society as a whole. It is creativity that brings color to our bland society. Creative professionals have a different insight on everyday life. In a sense, you can say we as creative professionals color outside the lines and are praised for it. In a marketing company, the creative team is considered to be the rock stars of the organization, and rightfully so. It’s their ideas through writing and art that give companies personality. It is the creative professional’s fingerprint on projects that sets their company apart from others. Anybody can learn technical aspects of a job, but it takes a special individual to turn something ordinary into something special.

If you are someone who tends to be flexible and easy going, someone that does not rattle easily and tend to take life in stride, becoming a creative professional may not only be a good career choice but a life calling. Creative people are motivated and tend to be very knowledgeable about their field of expertise. They are risk takers by nature, they aren’t afraid to try new things. These are the people who bring positive changes to the companies they work for, as well as to the world.
