Why You Still Need Business Cards

Business cards are like handshakes, they’ll never go out of style in the business world.  Even in today’s digital age of social media and handheld computers, a business card is easier to use than having to remember the person’s name and the correct spelling for you to look then up online later.

For instance, if you attend a Florida Panthers game and happen to hear two people in front of you discussing how out-of-date and confusing their current business website is, then you can join the conversation and tell them about your company as well as offer them your business card to contact you later.   Plus, by handing out your business card it shows that you’re a professional instead of having to write your contact information down on a piece of paper. California to Ban Single Use Plastic Bags

It looks as if California is about to become the first state to ban the use of plastic and paper bags at grocery, convenience, and other stores. This ban aims to reduce the number of disposable plastic bags that end up in urban rivers and the ocean, as well as to cut down on the number of bags heading for landfills. If the California State Senate approves the ban, shoppers will have to bring their own reusable tote bags, or pay 5 cents for a recycled plastic bag. Experts estimate that it takes 20-1000 years for one plastic bag to decompose?

Since Californians already uses up to 19 billion plastic bags per year, this would reduce the number of bags each person uses and put the $25 million dollars spend to collect and bury these bags to other use. (more…)

Using Coupons to your Advantage

When I was a teenager, I used to work as a cashier in a retail store. I noticed that the products paired with a coupon regularly sold like hot cakes unlike the competitions. Everyone loves to save money and a coupon allows them do that. One of the best things about coupon programs is that it allows product prices to remain high, but have a lower purchase price. In addition, it helps to position your product at the upper end of the price or quality perception scale. (more…)

Developing a good mouse trap may initially seem like the easy way to sales success. In the case of travel products, that is not always the case. Having an effective sales strategy is really the key to finding sales success.

So why do so many travel suppliers not only survive and prosper during these hard economic times, while others struggle and fail. It’s called having a sales strategy. Without a well designed and precisely executed strategy even the best mouse trap will not succeed. (more…)
