Michael Diaz

My name is Michael Diaz, a born Floridian with studies extending to the University of Central Florida with a degree in Digital Media (Design Concentration). My studies have provided me with a taste in every aspect of design from illustration/drawing and graphic design to audio/video editing and production. I sure have learned a great deal from my studies but I believe the most useful knowledge I’ve acquired are from my work experiences. And with my education and work experience combined, my goals are to push the boundaries with every project I take on while also having fun and enjoying my time spent.

I have a mixed background tracing back to Spain and the Dominican Republic on my father’s side and Guatemala on my mother’s side. My family is very diverse, filled with artists, musicians, doctors and even politicians. It was my great grandfather on my mother’s side that was the former governor of Guatemala; he’s the only politician in my family that I know of though so I take that back. I’ve only had one politician in my family that I know of, still pretty cool though I think. All in all, the most beautiful thing I have found about my family is that we all have chosen professions that help people in some form or another. It’s definitely the driving force that fuels my artistic endeavors.

For me, art is a never-ending journey of creativity, discovery, and imagination that can sometimes get very stressful but also very rewarding at the same time. Out of all the wonders of the world, art in all its forms truly stands out to me and has proven that it is full of life. As a result, I have made it part of my profession and will continue to pursue its outer reaches helping people connect with it throughout my life. Some of my favorite traditional artists are Vincent Van Gogh, Michelangelo, Alex Grey, Salvador Dali and Leonardo da Vinci and some of my favorite graphic designers are Otl Aicher, Saul Bass, and Tom Geismar.
